Autumn or Winter, Hot Chocolate is always a good idea ;-)
Healthy hot chocolate sweetened with dates and flavoured with cinnamon and cocoa powder. I am using almond milk, please feel free to try with other milk to truly enjoy a good cup of hot chocolate.
2 cups of Almond Milk
4 pitted dates
1 tsp of vanilla extract
2 tbsp Cocoa powder
1 Cinnamon stick
Add the milk, dates (pitted), cinnamon, vanilla extract and cocoa into a saucepan and heat to scalding (on low to medium heat).
The milk need to be warm but not burnt ;-)
Keep stirring for 5 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon stick and pour the milk into your blender.
The hot chocolate is ready when the dates are as fine as your blender can get them.
You can also warm the milk with the dates for 5 minutes.
Set aside for 15 minutes.
Add the cinnamon, vanilla extract and cocoa into the saucepan.
Heat on low/medium for 5 minutes, stirring the mixture.
The dates will become softer for your blender.
